Quote of the day

From a nature show about ocean life on pbs tonight:
"The sea otter wraps itself in kelp so that it doesn't drift away during its morning nap."
If there is a more contented animal on the planet than a sea otter . . . well, there just isn't. Man, where did we go wrong?

Well, i never really stopped to think about whether we humans are really the (surprise!) big losers in the competition that is evolution. It could be kind of like the "truman show." Unbeknownst to us, all the animals (well, especially the sea otters, apparently) revel in watching us, laughing at our political system, our materialism, our boy bands, and our preservative-laden foods. "If only those pitiful humans hadn't lost their flippers and fur over time...they could still live peacefull and comfortably in the wild like the rest of us!"
