We had, like, no power from six until well after midnight last night. It gets dark. How are you supposed to read? Cath started Cormac McCarthy's
The Orchard Keeper by flashlight, but I switched to the iPod and then switched to putting J back in bed when she got up and walked down a pitch-dark hallway and stairs to tell us she was "scared."
I don't think Abe Lincoln had an iPod. Although if he did, history has some major explaining to do.
ReplyDeleteI think I've been without internet for almost 24 hours now. I finished two books and wrote a poem. Man, 24 hours...that was hard. Cute picture.
ReplyDeleteNot bad for 24 hours. I am going to have kind of a "media fast" for a week this summer in New Hampshire. That'll be a long one for me.
ReplyDeletelol! I just realized today that I'm leaving for New Mexico on Saturday with Lauren and Hopi, and that means no internet for a week. Oh man! Dilemma!
ReplyDeleteThat sucks; at least it wasn't too long, eh? Yeah, that is a groovy picture.
ReplyDeleteI'm leaving to SC this weekend with no 'net for a week and a half! Double Dilemma!
I can't believe you lost power. What a bummer. I'm always so paranoid about our food going bad that I can't enjoy the lights-out. Isn't that funny?
ReplyDeleteIf the power was still out in the morning, I was going to make a personal-record batch of pancakes to use all the milk and eggs we had in the fridge. Too bad it came back.
ReplyDeleteI always thought I was good at pancakes and then I finally started using this cast iron skillet I bought a few years ago. It has been a new dawn of pancake making ever since.
actually i think if you dont open the fridge/freezer then it'll stay cold for a long time. Never had to test that, thankfully, but thats what i hear.
