Yesssssss!

The trailer for No Country for Old Men! Not my favorite McCarthy, but it's the Coen brothers. How can you not be excited?!! I might camp out for this one while wearing a cowboy hat and sitting beside a rented horse.

You should go to the website and check out the R-rated trailer.

Can't wait.

Dang. The PG was plenty creepy for me--I shouldn't have watched the R.

This role was made for Javier Bardem.

I'm a little concerned. The Coen's don't typically do so well adapting other peoples material (Intolerable Cruelty, The Ladykillers)--with the exception of "The Odyssey". And I hate the poster. And I think the trailer is so-so. And I've never been able to say that I particularly like Javier Bardem...

But...

Yeah, it's still going to be the cat's meow and I can't wait.

LOVE, DAVID

POST SCRIPT: It looks and feels like early Coen. I kept thinking about BLOOD SIMPLE.

POST POST SCRIPT: Did you ever see the terribly underrated THE MAN WHO WASN'T THERE? I really want to watch it again, I remember loving it entirely.

I think Blood Simple or MIller's Crossing is what I have been hoping for here. I think McCarthy's dialogue fits that earlier style, too.

I've had other friends tell me that Man Who Wasn't There is great, but I've missed it so far.

From Netflix, I just got a replacement for the Inland Empire disc that was all scratched up the first time around. I just need to find three hours of time to watch it now.
