Snow!

Our garden Buddha looks pretty content with the snow that fell last night, and I am, too. I can't tell you what a nice thing it has been today just to have snow outside the windows and in the sole of my boots. And just when I'd started to think that this could be a snow free winter.

That snow has made its way to the coast as of 8:30 AM. But it's sparse and thin. Just drifts.

First of all, it's awesome that you have a garden Buddha... second, my only deterrent in liking the snow is that I got my license last week and now my mom won't let me drive. :-( But it is quite pretty.

By the way -- I'm definitely missing your class. Mr. C is a smart guy, but I really miss the open-discussion feeling, as opposed to sitting there and listening to his opinion. I might have to start getting rambunctious...

You should, b/c the secret I think is that he'd love nothing more than for you to disagree with him or just mix it up a bit.

or you could be completely wrong and calypso would get sent to the office more times than you can count on 3 hands. And that probably wouldnt be fun.

only joking, i dont think that would happen.

And can i just say that if your garden buddha gets stolen, it might very well turn up in my yard... cuz i really want one... although im not saying i would steal it... more that i would simply... borrow it for an indeterminate amount of time

Scary proposition, but I might have to take you up on that. Or take him up on it, however you look at it.

How's the semester going so far? I heard you gave a rockin' presentation on poetry.

Well, I think class is going pretty nicely. I think the new 7th period class has a little less focus than I was seeing earlier in the day, but I think I do too.

Poetry is tough to teach; it's such a personal experience, usually. So far so good though.

I really hope you and stroller at least think about the Poetry Out Loud competition--you'll be hearing a date for it announced in the next week or so.
