"Remember Black Shoes"
This is Tracy and Seth getting ready for tomorrow night's opening reception at the Charlie Cummins Gallery. They and the other two members of their collective, e4, have a show going up there and it's amazing stuff. I wish I could paint. I'm getting that same "I can't do anything cool" feeling like I had after I went to the circus. I did remember that I can juggle, though, which is a little cool.
In the top picture Tracy is demonstrating the new "sign" or whatever for my old school South Side. Look at it--it's an "S"! I need to learn some words besides "cool" because I'm about to say that I think that the "S" sign is really cool.
Anyway, the opening reception tomorrow is 7-11 or so, so stop by if you'd like to support some local talent and all around nice guys. 4130 S. Clinton

I'm going to be late to the reception as I'm playing a show at the very same time. I have to say I'm surprised kids figured out how to do that 'S' - I mean negative space? But it's probably stolen, I mean my class hand sign is either a gang sign or so remarkably close I might as well just wear a vest if I'm in Chicago. As for looking for other words for cool, if you can get past all of the vugarities, http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cool will have some links to related words.
Where is your show?
I agree, the sign is probably stolen, perhaps from a now-extinct gang that died out because their sign required two hands, forcing them to put down their gats for a moment and leaving them vulnerable.
Oh I'm playing at Sunset Hall tonight (6809 S. Hanna). Doors at 6, and I play at 7. Tickets are an astronomical $8 for some reason or another. You can hear my band at www.myspace.com/zephaniahband
or Come to our show on the 11th for half the price if 80s fashioned metal is your flavor!
$8, huh? I dunno; I just spent $7 to go see the Mole Hunter speak today, and he taught me how to kill moles. Will any of the bands at your show teach me how to kill anything?
Well most of our songs have the word fight in them: Fight For Love, Warriors Of The World, Smiles and Pain, The Dragon Song (there's a real title but I can't think of it- it's about how if you don't like us, then a dragon will come and burn your face off or something.), Deep Breath... When I write a song about fighting, we'll probably play that one too, but I don't know much about fighting. I'm just the bass player.
Hey, there you are. When your old address stopped working, I thought you'd gone underground or something.
I'll be in touch.
